Part 1:

The Evolution of Asset Valuation in Private Markets  (Duration: 1h15)

Valuation practices in the private asset investment sector and their required evolution, particularly the frequent use of the CAPM and the alternatives available to improve the robustness of fair value reporting.

The objective of this session is to review recent findings and ongoing research on the methods applied to evaluate private assets and what drives their potential evolution. From defined contribution funds to secondaries and evergreen funds, the requirement to estimate private asset valuations at the time of reporting is increasingly significant. The Board will be asked to provide comments and suggestions as the best way forward for the work of the institute.

Part 2:

Creating Climate Risk Ratings for Private Infrastructure (and Tomorrow Private Equity) (Duration: 1h15)

The creation of climate risk ratings for infrastructure assets that capture their current exposure to risk (potential risk rating) and their expected loss given climate scenarios (effective risk rating) using the data created at EDHEC.

The objective of this session is to present a new project of the institute to create a regulated climate risk activity that will provide unsolicited climate risk ratings for several thousand infrastructure assets worldwide, creating a common reference for investors in infrastructure in terms of current transition and physical risk exposures and allowing the development of forward-looking ratings that take into account the expected financial loss created by climate risks. It includes the deployment of a new open-source knowledge base of alignment and resilience technologies created at EDHEC (infraTech2050).
